Search Methods

At Best Sales Talent, we offer three methods of search and recruitment to our client companies.

Retained Search, Priority Search, and Contingency Search

A brief overview of each method is described below.

RETAINED SEARCH

Our top priority. This plan is for urgent or high-level executive searches that require “full marketplace coverage,” and in sensitive cases, where confidentiality is paramount. We serve as your company’s directed recruiting resource.

To locate the very best talent, regardless of the location of the candidate, an executive search may be appropriate. The highest level of service is provided to clients who select this level of search. We bring all of our resources into play and assign several sales or marketing recruiters to the project, whose only function will be to fill the position opening. We develop a “white paper,” which is an effective means of presenting your opportunity to recruits. We screen, interview, select the best candidates for your consideration, reference check them, and manage the negotiation process to placement.

Our fee is a percentage of the first year’s total, realistic earnings (including salary, bonus, commission, and other cash compensation). Clients are billed for any pre-approved travel expenses related to the search. Clients are invoiced in three installments: the first invoice is submitted when the search is authorized, the second at the beginning of the second month, and the third when the candidate accepts the position.

A client may cancel a search at any time. We will stop working immediately, and our final invoice will include our fee, pro-rated to the date of cancellation, plus any pre-authorized expenses incurred.

If the candidate selected should leave within three months of the date of commencing employment, we will continue the search, charging only expenses.

PRIORITY SEARCH

Priority Search is a hybrid of our Retained Search and Contingency Search methods. The majority of our clients prefer this method. This level of search is for important positions, when you need our attention to get the best possible candidate as quickly as possible. By partially funding the search up-front, we’ll place more focus on the search.

Priority Search is a highly effective way to fill multiple openings or higher level search assignments. Similar to all our search methods, we obtain a high level of information from our client company as to the company, position, and profile of the ideal candidate. With Priority Search, we also can develop a “white paper,” which is an effective means of presenting your opportunity to recruits.

Candidates are usually identified on these special assignments via direct recruiting activities by our sales and marketing recruiters, but at times, also can be found in our existing database or with the assistance of one or more of our associates. We screen, interview, select the best candidates for your consideration, reference check them, and manage the negotiation process to placement.

On Priority Searches, we charge a retainer to begin the search. This is invoiced at the start of the project. The retainer on deposit is deducted from our Priority Search fee, which is computed as a percentage of the candidate’s total realistic first year’s earnings (including salary, bonus, commission, and other cash compensation). We are reimbursed for any pre-approved travel expenses. If the candidate selected should leave within two months of commencing employment, our sales and marketing recruiters will continue the search, charging only expenses.

CONTINGENCY SEARCH:

With this level of service, you pay no fee unless and until you hire a candidate our sales and marketing recruiters refer. We obtain a complete job description, profile of the type of candidate you require, and develop selling points for your opportunity. Candidates are identified in our extensive database, via our associates, or by direct recruiting efforts. We screen, interview, select the best candidates for your consideration, reference check them, and manage the negotiation process to placement.

Our contingency fee is a percentage of the candidate’s total realistic first year’s compensation (including salary, bonus, commission, and other cash compensation). We submit the invoice when the offer of employment is accepted. Our fee is due the day the new employee reports to work. If the candidate selected should leave within 30 days of commencing employment, and our invoice has been paid, we will continue the search at no additional charge.

All of our search methods can be carried out for one or multiple hires. Ask us about enlisting our network of associates to recruit an entire sales force to your company.
